Holiday, not for long.

The holiday fiesta I was talking about in previous post has only 3 days left. As of many holidays before, at the end of it I will regret about things I didn’t get to do or wasting days of it by sleeping. Aisyah said she refuse to sleep tonight so that she won’t waste any time of her holiday. Sounds great but I can’t afford to have heavy eyes tomorrow because I will be my mom’s driver since my dad was admitted into the hospital ward because of a retinal detachment problem today. He is scheduled to undergo a minor surgery this Sunday or Monday. Let’s pray everything will go well.

By the way, I just got back from Bandung and Jakarta trip last Saturday. On the way back to Perlis, I had my first driving experience under rainy condition at night. I just realized it was very terrifying. Especially on the hilly areas from Ipoh to Bukit Gantang. Controlling the wheels, the speed, and the braking. Thank god, I managed to handle it well with help from my dad. He made it looks easy all this years. The best experience in driving I had so far.

I’m currently working on the trip travelogue so stay tuned OK.

Happy Aidiladha

It’s been 1 month since my holiday started. Many things happened between that. I purposedly refused to post any entry to make way for the lomography guide. Haha. You don’t buy that? I don’t blame you.

During these past month, my daily schedule were almost the same. I woke up, took a bath, watched movie or surfed the internet then at night, I would hang out with my friends at Maicafe. We’ve become the most frequent customers there. I don’t even need to order my drink when I get there. LOL.

The exam result were also out. Not quite at my expectation. It turned out higher, to be frank. I’m grateful but it’s still not enough. Studio subject has the most credit hour. I failed to score that subject. Definitely need to improve the next semester. And they’re due to start on this 21st December. Shoot. My holiday is almost over.

Happy Aidiladha by the way.

Khalil’s guide to lomography, almost.

A lot of my friends have been asking me about lomography after my previous post and at my Flickr page. And flisterz had requested me to create a special entry about it. So here I will try to explain everything based on my view and understanding so far, note that I’m no expert compared to several old-timer in this field. So if there is any misconceptions please alert me.

Here is one thing that actually bothers me, for lomo it is about the cameras. They have a list of cameras that is being sold in LSI (Lomographic Society International, they were the founder and developer of the cameras today) and people have in mind that the only the cameras sold there are the lomos. I beg to differ. Well, it’s up to you actually.

Kampung moments

This is a bunch of pictures I took back during the days I spent at my kampung/village few days after raya using Praktica PLC3 on a Kodak slide film. Just got it processesed. Well, I have to admit those processing cost is pushing my finances behind. This time the result were quite satisfying. This is an old SLR camera my dad bought in the U.K. The brand is not well known but I think it got some qualities in it. I definitely need to polish my skills some more. And I need to get myself a Digital SLR quickly. Comments or critics is appreciated. Dont’ worry, I’m used to criticism. By the way, none of these pictures were edited except resizing. Also uploaded in my flickr photostream, http://www.flickr.com/photos/happycake

After 24 days of raya

Again, all the pictures are courtesy of Najwa.

Our studio had a little feast together today. It started at about 3.30 p.m. It’s more like a raya celebration and a farewell party to our lecturer who is leaving to further his studies somewhere. Most of our studio mates were there so it was kind of fun to hang out together for the last time for this semester. Some of us are also leaving -like our class representative, Bobby a.k.a Ronny who is going to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. Good luck bro. But remember, there is no way a pilot is cooler than an architect, okay? Haha.

I didn’t eat much there although my stomach was empty -regretting it right now. Managed to make full use of my film cameras today (I’m saving up for the processing cost). There were also plenty of cameras so everybody were becoming a cam whore here and there. Overall, I had a good time today. Thanks Bro. Hisyamuddin for all your advice and teachings. You are the best. And thanks everyone. See you guys during exam or next semester!
